It is the responsibility of the Sponsor to verify all Replica Imitation Firearm sales.
Sponsors must not sell to anyone under the age of 18. If there is doubt of the players age, the Sponsor must ask for appropriate identification or refuse the sale.
Sponsors must take all available steps to verify the reason for purchase, prior to sale. The AOBA database, Membership Cards, and possibly existing schemes are some of the ways to verify. If in doubt the sale must be refused or contact the AOBA for guidance.
Sponsors must maintain a record of all sales, database searches, information on the purchaser (address, name, etc.). A photocopy of the membership card is also encouraged but not compulsory.
Sponsors must keep all player records safe and must comply with the Data Protection Act.
Sponsors should ensure that whatever actions they take, these should be in the spirit in which the VCRA provisions were enacted.
